A critical part of our approach to building a successful, sustainable grocery store in Indian Head is tapping the knowledge and expertise of key leaders throughout the area.

So we are extraordinarily pleased to share that Dr. Kimberly Hill has joined the Oasis Fresh Foods Market Advisory Council. A Charles County native, Dr. Hill recently spent two four-year terms as the superintendent of Charles County Public Schools, the culmination of a career spanning more than 30 years as a teacher and administrator.

”I’m thrilled to join the team,” Dr. Hill said. “The lack of fresh food and sustainable employment in Indian Head is well documented, and this project will help address those needs. This is just one more step in revitalizing Indian Head, and I’m proud to support it.”

With her deep ties to the community and her understanding of the needs and opportunities in Indian Head, we are certain that she’ll bring immediate value to our advisory council. She joins a collection of more than a dozen local leaders who each bring unique perspectives to the project.

“Adding Dr. Hill to our advisory council was an opportunity that was too good to pass up,” said Marilyn Steele, one of the owners of Oasis. “The other members of the council hold her in very high regard, and we look forward to adding another knowledgeable voice to our conversations.”

The Advisory Council meets regularly to discuss progress in the development of our new community grocery store in Indian Head, helping to ensure wise decisions are made as we work toward renovating the space, opening the store and establishing it as a pillar of the community.

Oasis Fresh Foods Market remains on track to open in 2023.
