One of the highlights of our independent grocery store project is the community garden that will be created behind the store. It will be a place to appreciate flora and fauna, grow healthy foods and come together as friends and neighbors.
This will truly be a community project so we are seeking volunteers for a committee to help our community garden reach its full potential.

Committee members will work together to plan and organize activities at the garden. This could include:
• Conceiving cross-generational projects with Indian Head Elementary School
• Finding and working with donors for seeds and plantings
• Supporting communication features through the website and social media
• Working with local artists to showcase their work
• Designating planting spaces for residents, schools, churches and charities
• Working with the landscaping architect in finalizing the garden design
• Organizing and coordinating Grand Opening events and community engagement activities
• Anything else our amazing volunteers can think of!
We’re aiming for a 2024 opening of Oasis Fresh Foods Market, Papaleo’s Ice Cream and our Community Garden — but we’re building our team so we can be in full bloom when the Grand Opening arrives!
The Indian Head community has been incredible in supporting every aspect of this project, and we know you’re as excited as we are to make the Community Garden truly special.
