Our once-plain white fence is now bursting with the colors and energy of a flourishing garden.

All thanks to the incredible talent of local artist and Mt. Hope Nanjemoy Elementary School art teacher, Rachel Proctor and a team of budding artists.

What began as a few sketches inspired by the themes of grocery, garden and community, has grown into a stunning work of art that now graces our property.

In early June, we kicked off the mural project with the help of some enthusiastic young artists from Indian Head Elementary School and a few artsy students from Rachel’s own school. Over two days, 13 students contributed their creativity and energy to the mural, laying the foundation for what would become a community masterpiece.

As the summer heat bore down, members of the Oasis community pitched in, helping Rachel bring the mural closer to completion. By late July, the mural was finished, standing as a testament to the power of community collaboration and the vibrant spirit of Indian Head.

This mural is more than just a beautiful addition to our market—it’s a symbol of the fresh, healthy future we’re building together.

Oasis Fresh Foods Market will be opening our doors soon, and you’ll all get a chance to see the mural anytime you visit. It’s one more example of what it looks like when a community comes together!
